Eject Cargo needs a failsafe!

Twice now I have accidentally ejected cargo, screwing myself out of huge profits. There needs to be a failsafe. I.e. Are you sure? The single key-tap is brutal. Or at least an option of another mechanism.

I have it programed in Voice Attack as "Jettison All Cargo". While there is a Key for the Jettison, it is not bound to my HOTAS. No accidents that way.

I changed the key binding to <shift>+<end> after I did that. I only had 4 cargo at the time so not too much work involved in the recovery. (I could almost hear the passing Hauler Pilots laughing.)

i unbound the key, if i want to dump cargo i do it via the right side panel as its more manageable that way. if you get pirated by an eagle with an 8 tonne hold there is no point dropping all your cargo for them as they can't scoop it all, by using the panel you can select how much or how little you release.

Confirmations in VoiceAttack

You can actually do confirmations in VoiceAttack with a little legwork. You can find an example in the VoiceAttack Google group in this thread:

Hope that helps :)

If people were using the side panels as they were supposed to, this would never happen.

Thank all the people that moaned we needed a key binding for everything.

I suggest wiping the key bindings for things you may accidently do, and resort to using the side panels - it's what they're there for.

Bindings are there to allow players to use other ways than using the side panels.

Players with controllers with lots of spare buttons should reasonably be able to bind as many functions as they are able. It is optional, not a requirement.

Excellent advice....

Unless you dump it right in front of a station you won't get fined (and the fines are really not that high, like 200 cr per tonne iirc). But yeah, there should be some sort of warning - "Are you sure you want to jettison all of your cargo? Y/N".

Fun fact: I once accidentally dumped all my cargo of Indium outside of a starport, and when I had scooped it all up (cargo full) there was an extra tonne of Indium floating there... Magic. SPACE magic.
