Elections between two dictatures and NO missions

This is really annoying, it is third day of elections and none of them offers election data mission, besides regular passenger missions they generate donate food, metals, missions sporadically, but none of those mission seem to affect the transition of power in the system. There are a at least five system where election data could be delivered but for some reason there arent any election data generated by the system. Is there anything that can be done to trigger election data missions?
PS. does the "poll data retrieval" surface mission affect elections outcome too?

but none of those mission seem to affect the transition of power in the system
how do you conclude that? the election still 0-0 after a few ticks of running various missions?
( also - you are sure the two factions are in election in that very system by checking the local galnet? there is a weird effect of none-states being overwritten by conflicts in other systems, beside the system itself not being in conflict.)

Traffic also plays a part of it.

An Election is still a conflict, if you have enough opposition to cancel out your work, nothing will change.

but that's highly unlikely - it would need randomly the same actions/value of actions/...
Unlikely, but not impossible. Its happened to me many times over the years where work I did was countered evenly.

It is infrequent, but it wouldn't be the first time.

But, it could also be black box shenanigans where missions aren't being counted - have had that happen tons of times as well.

Hard to say, but those missions he stated all should have worked just fine for the goal at hand.

The line on which missions count and which don't is grey. I've definitely won elections through nothing but Assassination missions before, but I usually do the Hijack/courier/salvage missions that get thrown up.
