Elite 1st?

He could be right, I made my first in combat, at the time I was a full on powerplay player for ALD, having spanked in 8k+ merits undermining hudson, towards the end of the cycle, our playergroup's brass suggested we divert onto a "crimesweep" (ALD's conflict zone for expansion), punched in another 4k of merits, while "working the pack" I got the message from the pilots federation. Not sure what meant more to me, taking Beta Hydri from the feds, or making elite :)

Congratulations! You now get a galaxy wide 2.5% discount on ships and modules that stacks on top of other available discounts. So at that’s 2.5% on top of the 10% discount at Jameson Memorial.

Not even talking about it, despite long periods away I've buried 5000 hours here, ships, ships and more ships, sometimes even dream about ships.

(☠ anarchy is dying, FD Devs did it again)

The profound feeling of missing out is strong when I'm not online in Ed.. I too dream about ships..I look up at the sky and imagine they are actually up there. Just waiting to be controlled remotely from my base..

I just made elite in exploration. I definitely feel like that's my profession, but at the same time it's like getting qualified. I'm at the start of my career and not yet actually much good at it.

When you make Elite in a profession, I think that is what you are.
I made it in trade.

To a degree I get where you are coming from but I disagree.

I became Elite in Trade first but my second Elite was in Exploration. I am in no hurry to gain Elite in Combat, but it will come in time. Exploration and Freelance work is what I ultimately used to enjoy, though the Exploration part has been arguably wrecked for me now.

It would work if it weren’t so unbelievably easy to get trade Elite versus the other two. Just mine Void Opals for a few days.
Depends on when you earned the relevant ranks - Void Opals and similar are relatively new additions and not everyone capitalises (or has capitalised) on such exploits.

Congratulations. If you're happy with it, it must have been because you put some effort in. Unfortunately, that rank has been cheapened now. With the price and availability of Painite, you can go from Penniless to Elite Trader in an evening. With the Road to Riches, you can get Elite explorer in a few evenings. That leaves combat as the only one that's meaningful.

Indeed you can :(

However, if you pop over to the Exploration sub, you’ll find Marx’s Elite Exploration list, which has a further rank of “Elite Plus”. This rank has been calibrated over the years such that the effort to attain it is exactly what getting Elite in the original release would have entailed.

It is a lot harder :) To get Elite Plus from scratch now, you would have to gain 2.5 billion credits via exploration data...

I made elite exploration September last year (now have 512,000 Ly travelled) and am 45% from trade elite (made 10% progress the last couple of months)... Left Jameson for the colonies, thanks :)
I'm also a massive 17% expert in combat...

Guess that says a lot :)
