Yesterday I had my mid-life crisis and backed the Alpha level (with a second account - rather than upgrading my first account.. long unrelated story omitted)...
When I click on "Discussion Forum" in the Elite Alpha 'launcher' and it pops up the forums with:
Stu2, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:

Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.

Now I would assume in a day or two I would automatically have access but I find myself at least voicing the question, "Do I need to request access?"

I did a search and didn't come up with an answer to this although I thought I read somewhere to grab my towel and 'Don't Panic!'

Now I'm not wanting this thread to be stickied or anything but with the influx of alpha players I am wondering if it might be a good thing for a moderator or someone to unworry the already high-strung alpha players.

I found this in the Knowledge Base when I was waiting for Access, luckily I wasn't waiting very long anyway, and had got it late Friday, so knew I'd have to wait til Monday.

I cannot read the Alpha Discussion Forum, how do I get access?

If you pledged for alpha access through Kickstarter or the backer app then you should be able to see a form in the backer app inviting you to sign up to the Frontier forums. Whilst most elements of the backer app are now frozen, this form should still be live so following the instructions labelled there will allow you to get access.

If you have purchased the alpha through the Elite Online Store then you will need to email a member of our support team directly to gain access to the alpha forum. You can do this here sales@zaonce.net, subject should be Alpha Forum Access.

No! Surely not.

So who do you PM if you want to get on the alpha forum or should I just sit tight and wait for it.

edit. Oh yeah, Ashley Barley. I'd rather not bug them If I don't have to and I don't want to start a ticket for something that has already been covered.
