Elite Anaconda without turrets?

Who said the new AI was smarter? :) Without Turrets this Anaconda couldn't even get a single shot off!?

Quick recommendation:

When you bring the powerplant to zero, don't hold fire but release trigger after each third or fourth shot. You'll make the ship explode a lot quicker.

There is a random component of the calculation for power plant insta death and you reset the counter everytime you stop and fire again.

You can thank me later :D

Really? How bizarre! Ta!

I dunno, most large ship NPCs I encounter have at least a pair of turrets. Usually the two deck-mounted guns on the Condas are turrets.

NPC are very dumb (as rock) in RES. I bet it was purpose to make it so for grinders. Try that in CZ or on missions run. Difference is very drastic.

I'm fairly certain.

I destroyed ships this way as soon as the second shot in a number of occasions, as opposed to the number of times it was not until the hull disappeared before I learned this trick.

All I can think of is, 3 shield cell banks, no heatsinks, yet 100% hull and 100% powerplant. Well flown cmdr!

Fdev, can I also has no heat? [noob]

Heat like this don't do any damage to PP or hull. Only if you are at 300+ for a long time, when it will damage hull and PP but not really much.. 3 SCB will damage all your utility hardpoints to malfunctions, but no serios damage for hull or PP.

there is a small bug where if you cross into its fire arc once hostile then it's turret's activate and start shooting at you.

dont cross into its sight and your fine.

^This. I've been facerolling low-maneuverability ships like Pythons and Anacondas by "exploiting" this level of stupidity in the AI for over a year now (both before and after 2.1).

It's because the AI cannot target players using "highest threat", it MUST face you.

Man he cell banked like 4 times too. I just want to walk on his bridge and point to "reverse thrust"

nice kill. I don't think the New AI is all that great. Aside from having crazy damaging weapons sometimes, they still fly like.... NPCs. I'm in a clipper, not as nimble, but with dirty drive tuning, I'm working most elite ships... Had a few FAS I had to run from tho... Lol

Ahhh! So if I'd gone infront of this Anaconda, so he could then locked on me, probably turret hell would have ensued?
