Having just watched the following link.
It talks about DLC and prepaid games.

Maybe many of us are given FD are hard time?

Simple answer... No.

If you were saying that FD should have provided all the graphical details on release (which I don't believe you mean) Then also no.

If you mean 'Many of us are giving* FD a hard time as you said' then yes.

I paid for this game as is (actually paid into beta) and it has only improved, which has had nothing to do with extraneous income from???? Skins!

It's more down to FD wanting to make the game they want :D (which upsets many)!!!

* Had given? or are giving? (Vocab. Notational Socalist)

I am not a beta backer, I feel I may should have got in early, though...
Not sure If i'll go for the DLC yet.
I suppose this game was made to sell DLC?

Well the only official DLC announced from the start is...

a)Planetary landing

a)Walking around for some reason :D

One appears to only need a few landing pads, and an enormous amount of planetary graphics

And the other requires a stupid amount of other things like it's a different GAME :D

P.s. Love your Forum name.

Not really. I don't think anyone has an issue with purchased skins. Personally I'd like there also be some in game to earn. I've found the rank decals, so that's at least cool.

Still waiting for 2 cobra skins. Its been 2 months now. Lodged a ticket but no responses.

I'm ok with paying for DLC. I bought E: D prremium beta for the added benefit of free (prepaid really) future DLC content. But I think you should also be able to earn it with ingame credits similar to Mass Effect 3 MP. I think the custom paint jobs are fine for showing your support for Elite.

I'm very happy with the route FD have taken. I do not play subscription based games, i do not want to commit to paying for access every month for a game i might play intensively one month but not at all the next.

I abhor pay-to-win games. They cater to the new young generation who expect to win with zero effort (well, except for the effort of taking money from their parents bank accounts in order to fuel their sense of win).

I very much prefer pay-once, play forever, type games (which most game publishers hate the idea of).

With FD i'm free to show my support by purchasing skins for my ships, and expansions will be optional so i'm free to decide if the expansion will give me more enjoyment or not.

To be honest, loving the game so much that ill probably buy all expansions anyway, regardless of what they offer. Maybe i'm just a sucker ;)

It does not apply, Elite's DLCs (skins aside) are similar to the add-ons of the past, which TB states he has nothing against at all.
