The star Rukbat is in game. This is where the planet Pern is where Anne McCaffrey sited her Dragonriders series.

Don't know about that, but I have killed pirates Citizen G'Kar and Londo Molari (GO B5 4EVER!!!)
The copyrighted names are actualy stolen not by FD but by backers.That's because Rukbat is an actual star, also known as Alpha Sagittarii. So it qualifies as a "real star that also features in some sci-fi" - just like Wolf 359.
This is true... and I'm surprised that they're still there. It's possible no-one at FD is a B5 fan. Quick question though: was it "Molari" or "Mollari"? One "L" doesn't technically break copyright, as it's not the same spelling. Just like they could also have a "Luke Skyewalker", if they wanted to.

In the Tanmark system, the first planet is called Luca L(V4-26) which is at least a nod to LV 426 from Alien/s.
As in:
System = Lave
Station = Lave
Ok, let me think about it.

Little known fact but Luca was named by a backer after one of his children
And don't forget Cassie-L-peia in the same system.
As are stars I listed from the Dune series. Still doesn't invalidate them from Sci-Fi trivia.That's because Rukbat is an actual star, also known as Alpha Sagittarii. So it qualifies as a "real star that also features in some sci-fi" - just like Wolf 359.
