elite backer ... beta normal acess suggestion.

Hi

Is it possible for the elite team to let the people with beta normal access to download the game by the time it reaches halfway through premium beta. As my connection isn't really fast and I wouldn't want to wait a few more days after normal beta access starts to play it. Would be great if you guys can let us access the download a bit earlier :) .Before we can log in to the beta

Normal beta (also called second stage beta) will be launched after first beta finishes. Now, we don't know conditions, but I guess second beta will be almost feature wise complete initial version of the game and we will test network part of the game. So they won't overlap much.

I expect they will use some sort of launcher for the game to manage updates, as is quite common these days? Like SC has, at least it does for the hanger module.

If so, this means you could install the beta and be keeping it up to date even if your beta access level doesn't actually allow your login to start the game yet.

Here's hoping at least. :)

The point with these different phases is to balance the game, get feedback about game design and fix bugs. After collecting all the data from the players they then get to work and fix/implement/rebalance these things into what becomes the next phase. How are FD suppose to let you download a "normal beta build" before it's compiled in the first place? No, the download will become available at the same time they announce that the new phase will begin. Just like they did with the Alpha.

Sorry about your connection though! :(

(Personally I'm lucky enough to be sitting on a 150 MBit/s connection for only $20/£13 a month. :D )

ok I thought it would be like normal game alpha beta.. stages were they have a core downloand and then . patches are fixed over it. If that's the case. shouldn't the game be downloadable :p and then patched later in stages :p kind of like what Star Citizen is doing now. and most other games as well :p Since it would be incredible if they patch and change the whole game each time. I am sure there will be only minor adjustments in stages after premium beta comes up..

Anyway its just a suggestion ... for people with slow speeds :-D.. though I hope the size of the game doesn't come to 30 gigs or so :p ... was the size of the last mmo I downloaded. took 5 days lol

Does anyone know if game progress on Normal Beta will carry through to your release version of the game? Will the same be true for Premium Beta too?
