Elite / Frontier ELITE bbc micro not loading

I am new to this forum, and I am using the beebem emulator. elite loads and asks me if I want to load a new commander. I select yes and it takes me to another menu with 1. load new commander 2. save commander NEWCOME
3. catalogue 4.delete a file 5.exit

I click 1 to load a new commander, and it asks me my name. I put it in then it asks me which drive- I have tried 0 and it says not found. when I try 1 it says disk fault 1E at 00/00. I can't get past this screen

I have also had this problem on the online version.

Not to pee in anyone's Cheerios but why emulate? Oolite gives an updated experience (and is pretty close to the original). I think FD also has original elite for modern PCs somewhere though I've never bothered to DL it.

I'm sure DOBE and IB will be delighted to here that 'Classic' Elite is still in demand. To fully appreciate the wonders of Elite, it needs to be played on the original hardware with all the box set. Also the princely sum of £14.95 should be sent to 'Acornsoft'. Paying for stuff definitely ensures that maximum enjoyment is obtained. Also pretending to be about 12 is key.

Has anyone considered how this could have been made multiplayer?

Have you tried calling support on your mobile phone?

Any news of Acornosft Planet Coaster on the BBC micro? Im sure I recall a note in 1984 edition Microuser. Coming soon it said..
Just under Chris Roberts' Star Citizen on BBC Micro.. preview..
