Elite / Frontier Elite BBC Micro problem

hello,
first time posting. i wanted to start off by saying how great
it felt to come across this community. while my experience with
elite games began with frontier, i was very happy to find great
conversions from the elite forever site of all the prior versions to
download and play. i am however having a problem. the bbc micro
version of elite that is in the download section plays fantastic but
i am unable to figure out how the save process works. i have tried
the normal route by saving at the station as well as using the drop
down menu and clicking save state. nothing seems to work. can
anyone offer up a very clear and precise step by step guide to saving
your game? i would greatly appreciate it. thank you for your time and
i hope to see some of you in elite dangerous.

I'm afraid I can't answer your question, but have you considered trying Oolite? It's a pretty faithful fan remake, designed for modern PCs.

while searching through the forums i discovered
that the owner of the elite forever site does post
here so i sent him a pm as well. perhaps i will get
the info i am looking for. i do have oolite and may
just play that...i was just really wanting to stick
with the original.
