Elite cockpit in a superwide monitor?

Here's what the game looks like on 2560x1080 (21:9). As you can see, there are some issues with the UI. You can adjust the fov. I added cockpit screens with the lowest and highest fov..

Yeh, that needs a little bit of attention doesn't it. ie: Where are the HUDs shown when people look right/left on smaller screens? Do you still need to look right/left to see those, even with all that width?

When you look left/right slightly, you see maybe half of the hud. However if you look straight again, the hud disappears automatically..

Multiple Monitors

Do you think the game will support multiple monitors? I have a laptop with two monitors either side. It would be great if I could set it up to have the laptop view straight ahead and the two side monitors for the left and right views.

I'll give my 3x 1680x1050 (5040x1680) setup a try tonight if I get to it. I've been using one screen at 1680x1050 up to now. It runs very smooth so I'm not affraid to try it.

new video card I have coming supports 3 displays so i am interested in this, i already run two and have another spare one kicking around to add to my set up.

I'm wondering if they are keeping quite about this because they will want to force the player to ahve to look around the cockpit rathern than be able to see out the side windows and the whole HUD all at once?

As it happens I just went and checked and the new card can run 4 monitors, i wonder if i can get a view out the top of the cockpit as well? :D

If there is a kind person with a 2560x1440 resolution that is able to post a screenshot I would be able to satisfy my curiosity to see how I can expect the cockpit to look on my monitor. =)

Yes you could be right, it may be an element in the difficulty of gameplay to have to control the look left and right, although they are developing the game for use with Oculus Rift which would be a simple look left and right. Be great if someone from FD could confirm that we'll be able to set this up.

The monitor is great and would be even better if the game would support track ir. Some games have issues with the 21:9 aspect ratio though (mostly UI). So I have another 16:9 standing next to it. I also had tripple screen for a while, but I don't want to have 3 monitors on my desk..

Out of interest, where a game has trouble with the ration, can you typically get it to run at a lower ratio with black stripes left/right?

Tried it yesterday over 3 screens (5040x1050 in total) boy did that look awful!
(it has been hinted upon by Michael Brooks that they hadn't tested this so I'm not surprised). Cockpit looked all crooked as if it were a very deep nose. Radar was very far away and tiny in comparison to normal screen usage. Side screens were very stretched. Menu's and some HUD elements (Distance of targets) are very enlarged to a point that it has become unusable.

Shame!

Oh dear, i'm not happy to hear that at all :( i bought my shiny new pc the other day along with three 21.5" monitors. I imagine there will be a lot of people out there with multi-monitor setups so i have faith FD will be sorting this out.... hopefully in time for the first beta when i join the fun :)

In this mode I keep banging in to things as they appear further away than they are.
