Elite cockpit in a superwide monitor?

Out of interest, where a game has trouble with the ration, can you typically get it to run at a lower ratio with black stripes left/right?

Yes you can set the resolution in game to 1920x1080 for example and set the monitor to aspect 1:1 (at least on my Asus PB298Q). Then you have black stripes on both sides..

In this mode I keep banging in to things as they appear further away than they are.

As a single screen user (a onesey :p?), I would rather they focus on getting the front view as great as possible, since everyone can benefit from that. But your set up does look like it has great potential :)

I really do think this is some sort of FOV/fish eye issue? ie: The rendering is designed for a more traditional 16:9 view to try and "bend" the image as nicely as possible within that space. But your huge ratio is "breaking" that towards the far ends.

I recon there would be settings to undo that "stretch" to give a better result on your sort of aspect ratio?

Surely this must be a common issue on flight sims/driving games etc?

Having tried it, I would pay a lot for it if they fix the display res and latency which it sounds like they will. Its so damn immersive you just dont know till you try it but omg..this will be mind blowing

If Oculus price is fairly reasonable and the game is great, I'm definitely getting one.
