Elite companion apps

Not entirely sure if this is worthy of a new thread (apologies and please delete if it isn't) but I thought it might be interesting to discuss handy companion app's to have alongside Elite Dangerous.

So, of course there's the official Elite Dangerous app (currently just iPad but other platforms coming soon), which looks absolutely beautiful, has a bunch of nice introductory stuff, videos, etc and lets you see your current status and market prices. I'm hoping this will grow over time (my personal wish for this is the galaxy map so I can do route planning AFK).

But the app that caused me to start this thread was SkyView. It's one of those augmented reality stargazing apps. Now, the thing that has got me really excited (and is causing everyone else in the office to look at me strangely) is that if you go to the System View for the location you're currently docked at, in amongst all the information you'll see an HIPP number (e.g. where I'm currently docked, 86 MU HERCULIS, has HIPP number 86,974). You can type that number into SkyView, hold your iPad up to the sky and find that star (turns out I'm in the constellation of Hercules ... oh hang on, doh! the clue's in the name). Anyway, is it just me or is that pretty damn amazing? When it gets dark tonight I'm gonna stand in my garden and look up at the star where I'm currently docked (and then my family and neighbours can look at me strangely too).
