Elite : Creepy

I haven't found anything to be "creepy", yet. If I ever run into a nebula that makes the surrounding space murky, it might.

On my first holiday to the Caribbean, I went through dive certification and when I did my free dive test, it was in a fresh water lake and the murkiness of the water creeped me out terribly. To the point I sold the equipment I had purchased and only did a bit of snorkeling on the vacation.

LOL other favorite creepy moments for me...

The start of a new testing stage.

Beta 1: Azeban Station... ok getting started business as usual game on frontier whoa kamikazes everywhere!!!
Beta 2: Azeban Orbital. clunk.... OH PLANET!!!
Gamma/Release: Um.. we're not in Kansas anymore Toto... but where the heck am I?

Then the supercruise lights in hyperspace that rotated and came toward my ship just as I emerged... still saying that was not just randomness.

I can not agree with this more. Devs if you read these things, please I implore you - add more artistry and life into the stars and planets. Give them way more character. Not to knock into the competitor but look at what Star Citizen has been doing with their planet surfaces. There is a so much more to see and feel from these beastly astronomical bodies.

You forgot to mention the creepy songs the suns sing at you as you fuel scoop.

I've never been creeped out by a game like Elite creeps me out.

I've never played a space sim with this amount of immersion that space just creeps me out.

The sheer size of things creep me out.

Dropping out of warp at stars creep me out for some reason. Especially the little white ones.

The darkness and vastness of space creeps me out.

Black holes creep me out like nothing else.

Coming out of the toaster and seeing a huge unlit ship and not being able to tell exactly what it is creeps me out.

Not even Amnesia creeped me out this much.

Am i the only one or am i some huge nervewreck or something ?

The emptiness gives me the shivers. Flying 200,000Ls at c700+ and watching the target system become larger really makes me feel tiny and lost. I feel like a trespasser; a super organised collection of matter defying the Void.
I can also hear voices in Hyperspace.

Same here. Sometimes I think they're trying to tell me something. And that's usually when I'm trying to listen, and then get dumped out at a bright white star. The kind that makes you squint as you veer wildly to get away from it.

You really want to be creeped out go far away from civilized space and switch everything off on your ship other than life support and then turn the volume way up. Those whispering voices just on the edge of hearing and whale noises in space now that is creepy.

As many have said, I find black holes to be extremely creepy, the way light is distorted and you never really know how close you are. You'll never see it, but it is right in front of you..

Gas giants would creep me out if we could fly inside them. Oh and white dwarf stars are fairly creepy because they are so small but might as well be right in your face.

When I first started playing I was very creeped out while flying in hyperspace, the whispering and flying through dark clouds..

Needless to say, I can't wait for the thargoids!

Turn off the music and listen the strange sounds of singing stars, distant whispers in warp speed, the loose screws of your ship.. Can be very strange and scary.

+1 for the fun post!

With this thread title, I assumed it was about tantrum posts on this forum, threatening revenge forever for being killed in game.
