Of all the planes my first love is the Fairchild Thunderbolt II affectionaly called the "Warthog". /Sniff
Now, I've been playing EDH for a few months and have had an array of ships on the small-medium scale and just for funs sake want to ask all you Pros and Veterans which fighter in your opinion would be the closest semblance of a A-10? I know, I know, it's like asking what ship is like the "Serenity" or "Millennium Falcon". Forgo all the technical stuff and just use your imagination for fun and RP. A fight that is like the A-10.

I don't feel that any ship in the game will give you that sort of feeling, in fact, you would essentially be flying incorrectly if you attempted to fly a ship in the manner that the A-10 is flown. You can't even strafe ground targets in the same manner because they want you to do it in the SRV. Technically, the Clipper and Cutter were designed to have that fighting style (swoop in, blast everything to hell on the way by, and leave) but they were built with a fighting style that the game just doesn't support.

I love the Warthog! Even bought the HOTAS. :D

For me personally, the FDL was the closest I came to feeling like I was flying a Warthog. Strap a huge G5 overcharged MC under the nose and go do some damage!

I would love to have proper Air to Ground gameplay.

Something like a controlled TV camera missile would be a good start.

There is a disclaimer at the beginning of the video, but the similarities to an A-10 are the point being made...

I've yet to have a problem as you describe that said.
I made over a billion doing bases.

From my gut feeling I would say the Chieftain but I can't really explain why.

The FGS resembles more a shoe carton than an actual airplane.

Slow, maneuverable, heavy hitter, good armor, requires skill to raise hell on the battlefield but rewarding af when handled right? I only see one ship that fits the description: Vulture
