Elite Dangerous - A glimpse into our past and future

For countless years man has suffered. From the very beginning of our creation we have fought and waged war upon each other. We knew only greed
and our one aim was to better our standing disregarding everything and anything else. Unspeakable acts committed, murders, wars, genocides, man was the true beast
on this planet. The violence that took place had no bounds, Earth was a living hell for countless people in every era. But through time and great effort, man had changed. Each
battle, each decade, each century was a learning experience that would lead us and create what we were meant to be from the very beginning of our being.

No longer do we fight, no longer do we discriminate against each other based on color, gender and everything else we had once upon a time. We learned that in order to thrive
we must unite as one, a people of Earth to truly live freely and prosperously. We understood that every living being has its own right to equality. We made it clear to help
each other and build a foundation that would create a utopia for all mankind. To cease the violence, to stop the greed, to help everyone was the true goal. And if the resources of
Earth are not enough for all to be sustained, we look to the stars. The possibilities are endless once we unite, there is no boundary we can't reach, no limit we can't break. Each trial
that we have passed through has made us more wise, and stronger. We understand the importance of life, and preserving it. Man was born on Earth but will spread through the stars
like wildfire. Through the combined efforts of everyone, we will see new horizons beyond our wildest dreams, worlds that one could only dream of. From the first steps man took on
land to the farthest edges of the known cosmos, the future has no limit to what is attainable in life. This is the story of mankind, and how our actions have propelled us into an existence
that is full of life and mystery. And we will continue chasing the unbelievable and unthinkable until the end of time.

And that's what I'll be thinking when I fly my ship out of the station for the first time on the 16th! :D

Oh you dreamer you! We've got 400 billion stars, with even more planets and the technology to Terraform and yet the Empirical vultures are already gawking at the throne at the slightest sniffle of the Emperor.

I envy your optimism, though.
