Elite Dangerous Accounts

Sorry for the newbie-like question, even though I've played ED for years.

Some guy at work wants to show me how Elite Dangerous VR works. He asked me to bring in my flight controls to work to mess around with it today at lunch hour, but I am wondering.....I can't play ED using my account that's tied to my PC on some other device, can I?

1) I'd hate to ruin my Flight Control Bindings by trying
2) There's no login inside the game where you can 'change' accounts, so I'm thinking it's tied to the device isn't it and I won't be able to do this anyway?

Any information, I'd be very appreciative.

Oh, and also....I can launch the game from home from the ED Launcher outside of Steam and can also start up Steam and hit the Play button from inside to start the game.

Would I be able to log into steam from a computer here at work, and then play the game? Would it necessitate the computer here downloading the entire game from Steam first, to be able to start it from inside Steam?

Yes, you'll need to download the game to that local machine, and copy over your bindings to that machines app data location if you want that to work.

You probably shouldn't download non-work related software onto company hardware or hardware that's exclusively used for work, as it may conflict with your workplace's IT protocols and/or company policies. ;)

(Edit: if it's your own personal device that you use at work, you still probably shouldn't be using it for extracurricular activities while at work.)

You can loggin to your account from any pc you like. Just not more than once at the same time (if you do so, the first session gets disconnected).
You can just copy the whole game-folder to a different machine. In the launcher there is a login/logof option that allows you to change accounts.
Oh, and the keybinds are stored localy. So by loggin in on someone else's machine you won't overwrite your keybinds, but you might change his keybinds.

Edit: You could simply copy the bindings-folder, than you have a backup. You could even copy it to a different machine, but only if both have the same controllers
