Fiction Elite:Dangerous ". . .And here the Wheel" (NOVEL)

Hey, thanks korag, Steph and Jonty for the kind words. I'm really glad you enjoyed it all korag. It was hard work but at the same time a total dream come true and I really enjoyed writing it.

Would love to write more Elite fiction, but that ball is in the FD court. Right now I'm working on another novel in my own universe. I put some details up on my website: http://andherethewheel.co.nz/behind-black-eyes/

I'm also working on some other computer games - both in game fiction and tie-in fiction, so if you do want to read more me you'll be able to find it on my site.

Cheers,

John

If anyone is interested in the history of some of the planets visited in 'And Here The Wheel', I have started posting a bit of info on my website and collating the posts here: http://andherethewheel.co.nz/the-novel/

So far I've provided backgrounds on:

Tralec (Garbage Planet)
Villist (Site of the Battle of Villist)
New Aberdeen (Robert Garry's birthplace)
Skardree IV (desert planet)

Hi,

I picked up this audio-book from audible, but I think there are some issues with this version?

Either there is some unconventional story-telling mechanics here or several sections seem to be out of order.

For instance:

(plot spoilers)
The end of chapter 6 is where Robert is cremating his father, lights go out and he surrenders to Gunn.

The next section about Robert and Gunn in chapter 7 starts with Robert waking up blind and bloody in a ship, they start talking about having saved each others life and referencing stuff that has not happened in the story. Shortly after, Robert wakes up again in some rubbish heap, having been left/abandoned/betrayed? by Gunn and then there are some Blonde/Brown agents who suddenly pop up and well... if it sounds confusing it's because I have no clue what on earth is going on here - It's basically like a Fellini movie :)

Anyone else have this version and can either confirm that it is seriously messed up or explain to me what is supposed to be going on? :)

That's really interesting - nice to have some background on these locations from the book (which I enjoyed a great deal).

I had the same problem. Deleting the audiobook and redownloading it seemed to fix the chapter order.

Hi John,
Do you have any plans to release a second edition with more material like Allen Stroud has done with Lave Revolution?
Cheers :)

Hi

Sorry for the late reply, I clearly haven't been on the forums for a while.

I'd love to do a second edition. I had lots of material ready for the first edition which didn't make it in for one reason or another. Some formatting and editing tweaks would also be nice, but at this stage this is all out of my hand.

If anything happens I'll let you know.

Cheers,

John

Hi John,
Thanks for your reply. Actually you answered my question by email, and as we discussed your second edition can already be previewed in audiobook form!
Cheers :)

Hi Everyone,

I've had many requests for more And Here The Wheel content and so I've put together a little (non official) package that I'm happy to send out to anyone who has already purchased the novel (Any format). If you are interested, PM me or email me at john(at)andherethewheel(dot)co(dot)nz

Thanks,

John

Hey John,

That's great! It will be great if your story can continue in game, personally I think it's got great potential, many different avenues to explore and mysteries to unravel.

Maybe after the Premonition story is finished...

Cheers :)

Just finished the audio of and here the wheel, mostly harmless, and reclamation (lots of opportunity at work to listen to audio books).

And here the wheel was by far the best of the 3, and the guy who performed it was spot on. Double thumbs up. It's a man's man book. I dig it.
