Elite: Dangerous Android App?

Hi Commanders, Hi Frontier Dev-Team!
Are there any news about the Elite: Dangerous App for Android? It already has been released for iPhones, but most people have Android phones - will there be a Android release too in the future?

From what I've heard from Apple users we're not missing much. These apps that accompany games are generally not very useful.

I've got an iPhone, but prefer Android. The iPhone app wasn't too useful, it was mainly a marketing tool. It had descriptions of the game, a listing of ship stats (nothing different than what you could find on the Wiki), but one useful thing was it had your characters location and rank, as well as in-game CR balance.
