Im testing a windows phone atm, which usually is the last OS to get apps these days! its a shame because the nokia lumia range are bloody good phones.

They are making an IOS version of ED? :O I assume you mean OSX? ;)

I heard that they are currently on screen resolution 197 of 443 for the Android version, so they are getting there...

Does the iOS app work for anyone that wasn't an Alpha / Beta player? I joined on release and the app has never allowed me to log-in.

The app is completely different to the game. It's a companion app, nothing more.

The rate of development of the companion app is done by a different team, this should not be representative of the product on OSX...
iOS != OSX

Besides, the companion app will eventually be released on Android and Windows Phone.
The OSX version of the game is slated for 3 months after release... it's not even the first month yet.

Yeah me neither it's essentially useless at this point. I am actually curious as to what it "can" do if you could actually log in...

It's very temperamental but when I do get it to login it shows a status summary, the current market prices of where you are docked and a list of your ships and ships you can buy.
