elite dangerous awesome sequel

i havent tried all the ships, and its been a while i havent played ( i havent tried powerplay ).

dont you think the all the remakes ships from the previous games are just marvelously made ?

they look soo radd !

the ferdelance: awesomeness . If you read the description from Elite 1984, and see the FDL here, its really fitting.

the adder: one i especially love. i liked the adder from Elite 2, and in elite dangerous its just so pretty rad... instead of just being a rectangle.

cobra n sidey: same shapes, really cool.

anaconda and python: gosh... those are rad. the ananconda looks like a big boat , slow but maybe more firepower.
The python less heavy, more swift, and same shape as previous games.

and all those news ships are lookin all great....

lol i sound like a fanboy

Yep, I think I may have sounded like that when I joined in Beta.
I think I'm more Victor Meldrew now.

But I won't bring the post down, I still enjoy the basics!

PS: Did you say Rad!? - Thats takes me back a couple of decades :D

Fly Safe Commander

Like, way out Daddy-O! ;)

Rep for your excitement. Have you flown any of them yet? Wait until you get the Cobra. That was still the high point for me I think. (Then it all came crashing downhill! hehe ;))

Most of the ships are indeed excellent!!

Sadly I think the adder is the weak link as it's nothing like an original adder. :(

well i like the adder, but a thing that turn me down is the pilot seat being at the right ... that made me cringe for the adder, otherwise the adder in here is awesome, despite what you say lol xD

I love the ships and think they look great, even the ugly ones!
Miss my cobra and will be getting another once have credits to fully a rate it alongside my expensive asp. Cobra looks just like previous games but all filled in and shiny. Could even say it was rad😎

Good post, OP.

I love the ships in this game and have since the first time I saw the concept art for them. For me it's not because they are based on the old geometric designs (but the fact they do is a nice hommage to the game's origins). What I like is their mass and solidity. Unlike the ships in certain other games *cough* the FD ships look like real spaceships instead of flimsy aircraft. Look at the Hauler and the Adder against the space shuttle and say it ain't so. These are ships that really do look like you'd trust your life to them on journeys across the galaxy. The fact that a lot of the designs remind me of Chris Foss paintings is no bad thing either. For me the ship design, flight model and sound are the truly outstanding parts of the game - that and the galaxy artwork. We may complain about lack of content often, but FD have utterly nailed the core gameplay. That's probably what keeps me addicted :D

What a nice change from the norm.
I played the 1984 version as well, and you are 100% correct. I love the looks and designs of the ships, how they fly, how they fit with the theme of the original game. I just wish i could look as fresh 20 years later. But on the bright side now I have chrome. ;)

Excellent and rad post. Have some rep.
There are complaints a lot about this game but no more than any other. FD have done a marvellous job with Elite and it still has me gripped. The designs are second to none, the graphics are outstanding whilst balancing up for lower end machines and the sound details are probably the best I've heard since Thief the Dark project.
Granted, content may be lacking but we are looking at the beginning. A game being built upwards from its initial framework. FD are not pushing things too hard else the entire game may come crashing down.
I was hooked on Eve online for nearly a decade. Since Elite I've not been back.
So yes, Elite is rad!!
Well done Commander!!!

+rep for more fan boys and fewer whingers :)

EDIT: Also, when I first saw the redesign of the Clipper my pants got a little wet!
