Elite: Dangerous Community Award Nominees

I'd like to nominate Mobius for his exceptional contributions to the Elite: Dangerous community. Off the top of my head, it's wallpapers, signatures, PvE group, PvE forum, and probably much more that I don't know about.

He's one of my few real life heroes.

I'll reluctantly have to agree with you that Anopheles has indeed, for the most part, been able to convey the darker side of PvP roleplaying without sounding like a complete ... He champions the group well, although some members of the group do not.

There seems to have been a little misunderstanding about the award mentioned in the newsletter.

Here is a rather more complete quote from that section:

Ctrl+Alt+Space is our first ever film competition. We're inviting you to make a video using a piece of original music from Elite: Dangerous composer Erasmus Talbot and an opening title card selected specially for the competition. We want you to be as creative and crazy as you like, and submit your entry by May 8.

Six videos will be selected by Frontier's art and animation teams and we'll put the shortlist to the community to pick an overall winner to be announced soon after the poll closing date on May 15.

The overall winner will take home an Elite: Dangerous video starter kit, with Mad Catz headset, high-end Logitech mouse and keyboard and a video capture card to take your YouTube game to the next level.

The winner will also receive the first ever Elite: Dangerous Community Award – a unique Elite: Dangerous medal awarded exclusively to players who make an outstanding contribution to the community.

Steam forum community started off being buttheads and you vets trying to keep it together by trying to lure/help those who where thinking of getting the game.

Wow, now that's what I call a missed opportunity, and a complete miscomprehension of what community awards are.

I wish FD would stop making these silly and misleading communications that could be so easily avoided with a bit of insight.

Edit: The post does say the first ever. Where does it say, first and only ever?... Sheesh

Don't see how it is misleading or silly, it's a film competition. Nothing at all about nominating people. It does imply there may be more awards in future but not necessarily awarded for the same reason.
