So The Elite: Dangerous Community Award Medal is a one time event?!...

Wow, now that's what I call a missed opportunity, and a complete miscomprehension of what community awards are.

I wish FD would stop making these silly and misleading communications that could be so easily avoided with a bit of insight.

Edit: The post does say the first ever. Where does it say, first and only ever?... Sheesh

What could I possibly say about "miscomprehension". or "silly and misleading communications".... apart from "Read the Flipping Newsletter"!

Not wanting to argue with a moderator, I have read the flipping newsletter. The following quote:

"...The winner will also receive the first ever Elite: Dangerous Community Award – a unique Elite: Dangerous medal awarded exclusively to players who make an outstanding contribution to the community....."

suggests to me, that FD have come up with the brilliant idea of the first ever unique Elite: Dangerous medal awarded exclusively to players who make an outstanding contribution to the community. Nothing in this sentence suggests that this idea is a one of event.
I read it as the sentence is written. Thus there are a lot of commanders out there having contributed way more to the Elite: Dangerous community than any one film competition winner.

I'm curious if you are argueing you own personal opinion on how to understand the communication, or if you have first hand knowledge from FD to suggest that I am in the wrong?

Globusdiablo.

I am suggesting that you actually read the whole piece and make some effort to understand what is being talked about, instead of taking one snippet out of context and twisting it to your own uses.

From the newsletter, this 1st Community Award is a reward for the winner of the competition. There may be more rewards in the future - that's up to Frontier to decide, however there is currently no nomination process for a community reward, and no scheme along these lines has been announced.

If you are interested in getting a Community Award - submit a video as per the newsletter competition.

Closing this now as discussion of nominations for a non-existent reward is misleading to forum readers.
