Elite Dangerous Community Schedule W/C 18 October 2021

It seems to me that the VR people have given up, the ship interiors people are reduced to sniping from the wings and the console crowd are losing hope. It will soon be as quiet as the grave and JWE2 will inherit the forums.

None of it.

VR people are still wanting VR --> here
Ship Interior people still want their ship interiors --> here
VR people who want Ship Interiors still want to walk about in ship

just not in the same threads that console owners are using to want Odyssey on Console.

Where they? I thought the last one didn't work!
I think it addresses part of the problem rather than not working, but I could be wrong on that. Also its balanced with other bugs such as local Powerplay news not updating apparently, so the Yin Yang balance of optimism / depression continues its circular life.

You clearly haven't played Life of Black Tiger on PS4. Check it out on YouTube. Sony are actually much less fussy than you think as long as software doesn't brick consoles or that they don't get mobbed for refund requests.

The main reason Cyberpunk 2077 got taken down was because CDPR told people to go and get refunds directly from Sony. Sony understandably didn't like a developer basically rubbing their hands of their own mess and pushing it back in Sony's face. Microsoft never took it down from the store I dont believe. Sony clearly didn't quality check Cyberpunk very well on PS4 hardware else it would never have been on the PS Store in the first place.

Maybe Sony have learnt. I hope so.

Still it will be interesting when FDev deems it 'good enough' on PC.
In fairness to CDPR, if you buy anything through a vendor your relationship is with that vendor, not the manufacturer/source. Car garages used to be notorious for trying that little 'scam' on in denying any fault was their liability.

lovely dr. Kay Ross mother of the stellar forge engine,

Unless Dr. Kay Ross was working with David Braben back in the early 90s*, can we put this misplaced idea that she is wholly responsible for the Stellar Forge to rest please?

Does any of this look familiar? This all came on one disk in 1993, playable on a 1Mb Amiga 500 with a 7mhz 68000. Look it up to compare to today. I certainly am not downplaying Dr. Ross' involvement in the updating of the Stellar Forge, I'm sure she played a crucial role and I have no doubt that her leaving any company or position would be considered a major loss. Though I imagine those who want Elite Dangerous to succeed so much who bombarded her personal Twitter account probably played more of a role than one might let on?

or now mr. Lore himself Drew Wagar.

Meh, the Dark Wheel was written by Robert Holdstock. Again, not to downplay Mr. Wagner's involvement or necessarily disagree with some of his points, but Elite's lore goes quite a bit further back than his involvement, and it doesn't stop minus his input moving forward.
Edit: Harry Harrison was first asked to write the original Elite novella, that just blew my mind as a Stainless Steel Rat fan who headcanon's Elite's timeline between now and the Stainless Steel Rat universe.

*mobygames lists David Braben as the sole programmer. I'll try and check the credits on my copy when I get home, but confirmation/correction would be good.

Yes indeed, elite has is long history without no doubt, but for the actual irritation of it, this two peoples are heavy involved about the evolution in elite.

to the lore point, please corrects me, but wasn’t this the case that the dark wheel novel was not cannon anymore ? For Elite dangerous ? Please I didn’t knew the hard facts on this.

Elite and it’s mystery foggy lore is one of the most reason why I love to play it. And Drew’s lore about Salome for an example was a huge event back in the days. Some serious stuff are bonded with this part of the lore, for example the children of Raxxla.

for me personally it’s a huge loss. And I wouldn’t like to blame the narrative team by far, or some very talented guys which are on the development team.

my Intension isn’t although by far to undermine Fdev with this, it should simply shows them, what are actually people thinks honest and briefly. No fanboy, or crybaby’s, or salty console cmdrs like me. Only the brave silent guys with a vital statement.

really I’ve been concerned a lot and be at some time upset to the limit, but this honest words reflects it very good.

i really would love to see, that the steam critics are going up, the progress for fixing the game will received a good and vital position, and a lot more. After all of this, then we can hopefully take a shot of EDO on consoles.

Hey Bard, we haven't updated the older thread, that simply details some of the content in Update 8.
Oh sorry for the misunderstanding. By the way, I know it's off topic but I've just seen a recap video of the last Odyssey News from the Buur Pit, I think that we'd benefit to have a thread with the most important things showed about the current development, I am most interested in the very promising job done with ground missions.

Yeah you're right, Supercruise News was dead good yesterday.

I play VR and have almost completely stopped leaving the ship because I don't want to go outside, and it would be good to find out why all those NPC ships dock with fleet carriers without any apparent interaction, they don't buy or trade so I believe they are just using the toilets!

im hoping the escape rescue megaships have people sitting round and casualties when entering the mega interior.
and can we enter a damaged station interior, are these one fire... are people NPCs trying to escape

I just say the tagging emote... brought a tear to my eye. It's just the sort of functionally I've wished for since alpha.

Now... if we could have something like that in our ships so we can point at an interesting stellar feature and get a line of sight indicator in the galaxy map....
