“There is no greater education than one that is self-driven.” - Neil deGrasse Tyson
Jason Frimantle wants a new life.
In a cutthroat galaxy rife with ambition and chaos, family only complicates matters. Jason's father clings to the status quo, forbidding his son from striking out on his own. More than the politics and piracy out in the void, Jason struggles to free himself of his father and his past.
What he and his father both fail to realize is that emotions and failures and memories, like stars and moons and black holes, have gravity all their own. It takes a heroic change in velocity - delta-v - for one to truly find their freedom.
Author's Notes: Since I started playing Elite Dangerous, I’ve been inspired to use it as a means to tell a story. As much as I tell stories to myself as I play games, this idea quickly followed me outside of the game. After some research, and following the tradition of Andy B’s “Space Storm”, I took up the idea of telling this particular tale chapter by chapter in a way that engenders feedback and enjoyment from appreciative communities.
