Elite Dangerous DLC/Season pass?

So people have been going on about Elite Dangerous and DLC. So let me ask a few questions and hopefully we can discuss and compare notes to get some answers.

1) Is DLC a confirmed thing? If so - What do you think we should be expecting of DLC.

2) Do you think it would be possible to get them to release a Season pass for us to buy now and get any planned DLC?

2 DLC's have been confirmed, planetary landings and a first person 'walking around' expansion.

they did sell a lifetime expansion pass but this was discontinued.
