To the point, is there an end of life plan from frontier so that people can continue to play the game after it is no longer supported? I posted something similar a few years ago and never really got an answer. I couldn't find the old thread so I am making a new one. With recent announcements it's made me wonder about this again. It would be nice to be able to host an offline/single server game with some modifiable properties. Things like removing engineering from NPCs or making the galaxy a bit smaller by locking systems for space saving (if necessary).

Lord Brebus said many moons ago that if and when ED shutters they'll release the game files (whatever that means) for people to enjoy the game offline or words to that effect.
