Elite Dangerous executable very high!

I have been playing ED since 2014, and playing VR for over 12 months, with no problems. But suddenly in the last couple of weeks the game has been freezing in VR shortly after game start. And the only way I can end the game is by going to Task Manager which displays "Elite Dangerous executable very high" I've uninstalled the game and re-installed it but no change. This only seems to happen in VR?? I'm running Oculus Rift CV1. But as i've said i've not experienced any problems before in the past 12 months until recently. Any help greatly appreciated.Thanks

That's the load of the process and "very high" is quite normal for a demanding game. VR is also more demanding as it needs to render a second view port and does so on another thread.
