Elite Dangerous: Full Engineering Process A to Z

Hi,

Just uploaded a new video for my Elite Dangerous series.

This is the video you basically wanna link to your friends who are just getting into engineering, as it showcases the A to Z process of how to engineer efficiently.

Nicely made and very informative. Now I know for certain that Engineering was a catastrophic development error by Frontier ...

Thank you!

Mmm, maybe, but at least it is easy to do :) as those 210 commons take roughly 1-2 hours to farm. And I'd say that is roughly 50% of the time required. So 3 spicey, fully engineered weapons in just three hours is a good deal in my opinion.

Not to mention that engineering feels kinda good, you get to see alot of the galaxy, at least within the bubble, visit all sorts of planets, it's like a big scavanging hunt, and at the end of the day you do feel a sense of reward for the time you put in, good stuff.

Altho I really wish they would increase the module storage, 60 units makes no sense whatsoever, at this point I have like 100+ modules and need to buy extra ships and use them as storage containers...

Or even worse, Power Play weaponry... That requirest 0 interaction from the player except waiting 4 weeks , and then gathering 750 merits in under 2 hours.

Buy a few - what's this? accidentaly bought too few and switched to other PP super power?

Sorry, wait 4 weeks again.

:D

Yeah, it's an utterly terrible, copy/paste hack job, basically. Someone took the bog standard MMO fantasy game crafting grind, and lifted it wholesale into the game, while simultaneously managing to insult real engineers everywhere..

One of your channel appreciates here, how about a video on obtaining Polymer capacitors and a few of the other in demand hard to find mats ...since apparently engineers is such a walk in the park now being recently broadcasted by the FD gallery here, this wont be much issue and myself and maybe others will launch ourselves on the path more illuminated than the ones we have been on trying to find them.

Just let the video run until you actually find the Poly Cap --name them maybe vid attempt 1 etc. --and see how many it takes ;)

YES, that video was exactly what I needed, someone explaining the whole process from start to finish! MassiveD, saviour of the unengineered masses I praise thy name!

I'm feeling confident enough now to ask another stupid question:

What *IS* a good roll?

This might seem like a total noob question, but with all the different sliders and secondary effects I'm looking at the results of my roll feeling like a sheep looking at a thermodynamics entropy change equation.

So in the video, why is the second roll better than the first one? Can it happen that a positive effect is so good that you keep it even when the negative results are quite bad? Is it a balance of the two or do you just look at the desired bar ignoring the others?

Thanks MassiveD this should help the BroCast get the old Vulture in better shape :)

I really enjoy engineering myself and think its great for PVP and PVE as there is no one set loadout or must have build.

I think engineering is one of the best things in the game.

I didn't watch the whole thing, but it seems to me engineers aren't working as they should if part of a "full engineering guide" suggests finding 70 common items to "power level". I really don't think this is what FD intended people to do, but this video will make sure that this is how many people approach engineering. I actually hope this video shows FD that they should maybe rethink engineers altogether. For example, maybe you shouldn't gain any reputation from actually engineering anything, maybe they should add a mission board or something so that we gain reputation with engineers the same way as everything else. I'm sure many people will hate this idea, but whatever, the way it is now seems broken to me.

Thanks for making this video. I've just had a glimpse at it but as I am going to get involved in the thing for my entire fleet after my Cutter achievment, I am thanksful for those kind of tuts :) . cheers!

Sure, I can do that... eventually :D got a bunch of videos planned and in the works, so little time

Actually the first roll was great, and that's what you should aim for, however I had matts remaining for few more roles, so tried to be cheecky and get what is called a "god-roll", which is the same roll like that but + good secondary effect, which sometimes happens but is not essencial
