I think most explorers are doing the Distant World Voyage right now. Might have to wait until we get back to get people to go on this one.

If I could offer a suggestion:
In your shoes, seeing the scope of this expedition, I would try to structure the thread in the same way the main DW thread is structured. Define the path you propose to take, mark way points and the distance between them. Decide what a feasible distance is to cover in a week's time and run it by everyone who is interested in your expedition.
This will be a rather lengthy trip and for others to be interested they will need to know if they can meet the amount of time dedication to this.

Ive already mapped out half of the route up until the opposite side of the core from sol just got to work out the rest and sort out times. Would you say 3,000-5,000ly is a reasonable distance between waypoints.

If you're just honking the ADS and jumping you can safetly figure about 1 jump per minute, so in an hour a ship with 30ly/jump with a full tank can go about 1,800lys. Now I'd round that down to 1,000-1,200 to account for scooping.

If your planning your way points to be a weekly meet up/goal then I'd say 3,000-5,000 is very reasonable number. This would give those who have alot of time to dedicate to the expedition alot of free time to go off path a little to do more in depth exploring, while also allowing enough time for those who can't play as much to catch up.

Thanks for the help, im now thinking of changing the trip for a few weeks time from now (possibly even a month) and travel the route as a test soon, this will also allow time for CMDRs to sign up

Ive been to the core twice

My idea for this event is similar to distant worlds but specifically for xbox players

Okay so you understand how long exploring really takes.
I was very naive during my first run outside the bubble and wasn't very well prepared at all.. Didn't want to see someone suffer the same fate haha

When exploring, does distance pay more? ie: Will a system with 10 new objects at 2,000 ly from selling point pay more than said 10 object system at 100 ly from selling point?
or is distance irrelevant and it's all based on how interesting the system is? I still can't find a definitve answer on this.
IT would make more sense if you're going to travel to the center of the galaxy, your findings would be worth a lot more purely on the fact that they're so far away from
where you'll be selling your data.

Also, has anyone made their way to either of the Magellanic clouds?

Nope its all down to what astronomical objects are in the system

Good luck commander on getting this organized. You may have to hold off on your expedition until the Distant Worlds event concludes however. :)

Even though we are now waiting till distant worlds has concluded im worried that if horizons releases during the trip commanders will self destruct or just abandon the expedition to get an srv.
