Hi, we have an International Telegram group about Elite: Dangerous (https://telegram.me/EliteINT). We decided to create it after the outstanding success of the Spanish Elite: Dangerous group that has about 400 members. Some English speaking players came to our group but as we only accept Spanish the correct decision was to create an International group.
Why Telegram?
Well it is quite easy to explain. First of all Telegram does not request members to send their phone. It is only used to register but not shown to anyone in the group (not even the admins)
It has bots to make admins' lifes easier and to provide information.
Gifs and stickers. Without an abuse of them they are great and funny. We even have ships stickers!
Is it really useful?
While instant time help is impressively useful, the exchange of information in the conversations will help everyone just by reading. Some members of the "initial" group have thousands of hours of play time while others know the lore of Elite.
Yeah fine but I am just a person who don't want to talk, just read. Can I still join?
Sure! of course members who don't interact are welcome, it is a community group, maybe sometime you will talk and enjoy the experience or maybe not but you will still be welcomed in the group.
In the past I've had bad experiences with players and conflics. Can you assure me that this won't happen in this group?
I can't assure you that but the rules are quite strict either warns to low level conflicts, 1 v 1 fights between them or bans if we feel it as necessary. We can't control people behavior but we can definitely stop it before it becomes annoying.
But my English is not good...can I stil join?
Mine isn't either and some members have other languages as their mother tongue so don't worry, just make it understandable and it will be fine!
