Before making this topic I did a google search for "elite dangerous capital model kit site:forums.frontier.co.uk" just to make sure it hasn't been mentioned before.
Reddit has it https://www.reddit.com/r/EliteDangerous/comments/33oy1h/model_kits_for_elite_ships/
While the replies were sparse, interest is definitely there.
And you can't deny how popular the Gundam model kits as well as other vehicle model kits are.
I personally wouldn't buy any of the existing merchandise offered on elite dangerous store (I don't wear caps/hats, even if I buy a t-shirt it'd be covered by my jacket ALL the time, I'm practical like that, apparels just isn't my thing), but if you offer model kits on there, especially capital ships and space station model kits, I'd buy it in a heart beat.
Ok maybe not in a heart beat but I'll save up for it and eventually buy at the least. I've got a baby to raise.
If you're worried about spending man power to design it, I think it's a hell lot easier to design than those gundam kits. Elite ships are large with little moving parts. If you've got deployable hardpoints/heat vents/cargo hatch, the rest of the ship can be snapped together. The movement and the parts under the skin are a lot easier than the gundams. Hell, transparent model with visible insides, doesn't have to be moving/working insides, would be a nice bonus.
So what do you say Frontier? Either you do it or some of us would have to 3D print it ourselves.
