Elite: Dangerous Mobile App

Is there any chance the mobile application team can get around to updating the mobile app for iOS/Android? (if available)

It hasn't been updated since the game was initially released and most of the ships are missing from the shipyard, also the app is constantly logging me out and not retaining the session (unless intended?)

Some powerplay dashboard information would be great, so I can track my merit decay and keep up to date with my powers endeavors.

I would be more inclined to use it if the information available was correct with the current status of the game.

I searched a few times in the App store and could never locate it. I found a Elite Countdown to release timer app or some similar thing.

Yeah, I had the app. Pretty useless (and difficult to login to) as it currently is. Would love to have a more useful app :D

It needs some serious work. Right now it isn't really good for anything and lacks a lot of ships in the shipyard listing.

Even just adding GalNet news to it would help a small amount.

I gave up on the thing long ago. It rarely listed the correct station I was docked in, normally showing a station from three or four jumps ago or even an arbitrary, random station. It was a glorified advertisement for the game and of little practical use.

I did submit a bug report about the location issue. Nearly two months later I got an "automatically closed, re-open if you're still seeing this" boilerplate response. I re-opened the ticket, reiterating the data sync issue and also highlighting the fact that the app logs you out on such a frequent basis that it discourages the use of strong, complex passwords for what is in effect your primary ED login.

Three months later I got a reply that included the following...

Frontier Support said:
Your bug report from February was categorised, prioritised, passed onto internal bug team for further investigation & we are expecting it to be resolved with our new v1.3 PowerPlay release.

Needless to say the 1.3 PowerPlay drop did not miraculously fix the problems in an independent application on a different platform. Funny that. It went on...

We don’t usually respond to bug reports and will need to close this ticket to make sure we’re tackling ongoing and new issues you’re seeing. If you ever experience an issue that is preventing you from playing the game, or requires some credit return, we ask that you open up a Technical Support or Lost Item ticket and a customer service agent will get back to you.

At which point the ticket was permanently closed, unable to be re-opened.

Pathetic.

I stopped submitting tickets around that time, too. I still post to the bug forum, but my experience with this and other reports tells me that raising support tickets is a complete waste of everyone's time. Apologies for the slightly OT rant but it gets my goat every time someone mentions that bloody iOS app.
