Elite Dangerous needs more meaningful PvP interactions

Dear Spacies, :D

I think the Elite dangerous is missing Positive player vs. player interactions. As for now, We either steal from another player Or we kill another player. There is no option to save them Outside of combat. For example We can't help players Who are out of fuel. We also Can't help players who need major repairs. Large ships like anaconda Type 9 and type 7 Should be able to repair, Refit, and refuel other ships outside of super cruise. Smaller ships should be able to trade fuel with each other. We should be able to give other players cr. What do you guys think?

Yesterday I went to a resource extraction site at a planetary ring in an anarchic system and saw a human CMDR in a Hauler mining. I contacted him and asked if he needed some backup.

He was very happy since he was getting attacked by NPCs on a regular basis. So I stayed quite a while, killed a few pirates, had a nice chat with him and when I finally took my leave he dropped 2 gold as my payment.

I like some of what you say. As for giving players credit... I think this is coming BUT it worries me as is open to abuse.

personally I like the idea of being able to trade, and to offer set services for set costs (for instance a tow of an out of fuel ship for a certain price) but imo freely donating money is potentally going to be an issue imo.

but in principle, I think very few people would disagree that more content is needed, and is (hopefully) coming

Why you think it will be problem with freely donating?. Why shouldnt I be able to give my friend credits if his short on some module etc?

personally i think it would be bad if I could have a pimped up "clean" trader able to give my other CMDR (or a friend) who is a mentalist player killer millions of creds so that I/they can go around mindlessly murdering with no downside.

that is not to mention the possibility of getting spammed in comms by messages from "gold farmers" saying cash for credits!.

As it stands right now, there is a limit to how much an at a player can be as it costs a LOT of money acting like an antisocial ...... person.

Did the gold come up as STOLEN?

*laugh* I was just about to comment that PvP was pretty fine and what was needed was better P+P v E support. Then I read your post and well, I happen to agree that little things like being able to refuel another player would add to the game.

I disagree with Type 9's being able to refit and repair others. It is, after all, a big cargo hold with a cockpit and engines strapped on.

The Anaconda..... perhaps, at least partially. But I think the better solution would be a dedicated repair ship.

I REALLY REALLY want to be able to go out with a group of my Expedition friends that is able to function as a long range mutually supporting group, taking fuel from stars, perhaps mining minerals to provide to a repair ship to let it patch up damage to our ships.

That's cool game play and is a work-around identified by players.

its still a workaround none the less. In reality the hauler should be able to make a bank transfer of credits that you pick up just like bounties etc

Excellent idea. I think it would be brilliant if you could save game docked inside a players ship and when you rejoin you are still in their ship, wherever it might be. Some people can play a lot more than others and this would help the people with less time on their hands. You could take them with you when they aren't playing so they can drop in and still play as part of a group.

Could be a while before we get ships capable of containing others (possible exception is Anaconda's swallowing sidewinders whole). But I love the concept. It would also enable the possibility of giving piggy back rides to ships that can't manage long jumps. eg. A super-freighter that can carry a viper across a 25LY jump and launch it when needed to defend the freighter from pirates.

I agree with you that we need an entire new ship for the repair and refit job. I was just throwing stuff out there. Was hoping they would give us some mechanic within 30 days using the assets they already have. Making a new ship will probably take at least 90-120 days. :)

This is what Star Citizen is planning to do. But if FD can pull this off, its an excellent idea. While you are offline your Avatar is still in game functioning as AI in your friend's ship.

How's that work!? I didn't realize the game allowed for this. How did he/she do that?

Go to your Cargo (Right HUD) select the cargo you want to jettison. An option will appear to drop or to Abandon.

Agreed/signed/whatever

Right now the game feels like a single player game with a multi player mod rather than a true multi player game.

What's desperately needed is player wings and player initiated bounties.

Or just a repair module that works on other ships.

I would really had needed backup yesterday.

I was down on the frontier of explored space below the Empire and found a very profitable asteriodfield. It dropped 60% chunks of valuable metals!! I couldn't mine it though since NPC pirates where constantly warping in and scanning me. They had huge bounties though...after just 20 minutes or so I had racked up 100k+ in bounties alone. I suspect I would have been able to mine to about the same level of profit too. If I've had one or two other players keeping the Pirates away they would have been able to earn money on the bounties while I mined away.

The big universe of ED is the big problem with PVP.
We have mor systems than people on earth, how should we find each other ?
Any why should we attack each other.

PVP is important imho but to make it meaningful ED needs a lot of changes. The big galaxy is the biggest problem for PVP I guess.
Non explorers should be focused/pushed into some areas, for example by giving great missions only in those areas and leading them all into anarchy space.
Then we just need a proper reward for the kill or defense :)

Definitely agree, this game really needs methods for positive player-to-player interactions, instead of having everyone at each others throats all the time

I think this is the most meaningful interaction you can get out of the game right now, this was my first 1v1 fight I ever had.
