Elite dangerous odyssey …. No longer

Well they didn’t change the name to Type-8 when the last update happened.Waiting to see if it can be changed from odyssey discussion
The major version is Odyssey, Ascendancy is a mini update that didn't change the major version number, so it's still a version 4 update, when they do another purchasable DLC it will probably be changed to version 5 and get a new full name, so at the moment it is Elite Dangerous Odyssey, Ascendancy update.
I think the subforum still makes sense. The previous updates were all free for everyone and are part of the game for everybody. The general forum is a good place to discuss these topics.
Odyssey is a paid DLC, not everybody owns it, so it makes sense to separate the Odyssey threads from the rest, so non-owners aren't bothered by threads that don't concern them.
And of course since it's a pair DLC, there's also a bit of a separation of gameplay elements ingame. So giving Odyssey it's own subforum to discuss those things makes sense in that regard as well.

I'm sure they will once the last Titan is defeated. They added the burning hangar with them, it will probably go with them.
