A lot has been said about the Tower of Power which is the Series X, but what about Series S?
Well, I unpacked my cute little next-gen Xbox, set it up in my bedroom, and what's the first game I played on it?

The Series S version of ED is great. Performance wise, its up there with the Series X version, the main difference of course is rendering at 1080p instead of 4K, and for £250, I'm fine with that. My gut feeling is that this hardware could render ED at 1440p with no performance drops, if Frontier gave us the option to do so.
Like the Series X version, on the S, the galaxy and system maps open very quickly and I saw no performance issues during my CZ test drive. The console is small, cute, and bloody quiet. It sits there, occupying less space then any Xbox before, and does the business while delivering performance which blows away the Xbox One/S.
If you want to play ED in a second room, or want to introduce the game to a young Commander, or you don't care about 4K resolution, then the Series S delivers.
