Yo ho me hearties. I'm almost ready to 'go for gold' as Mr Kelly might say. Yes yes. The heat is on. The time is right. Let's do a podcast chaps! :)

I'm thinking Skype and I'd like to get 3 gentlemen of leisure (plus myself as host) to wax lyrical about the good/bad old days and talk about the kickstarter, their thoughts and feelings about how it turned out and where we are now with this wonderful community buzzing along at over 100 folks online at any given time of the day or night.

If you're interested in being famous purely for being famous and therefore automatically booshed to the dizzy heights of celebrity Z list status along with esteemed members of the community like Jonty Campbell, Joey Essex and that Armenian bird with the big butt - get in touch!

All you need is Skype, 1-2 hrs and something to say when I ask you what you think. Trololol. No really. I'm on the internets and I actually want to know what you think. Get in!

PM me here on the forum if you're game and I'll see how many nerdlords, spergers, lamers, griefers, care bears and 'people from the north of England' we get clamouring for their moment of destiny. If its less than 2 I'll cry.

Thanks to everyone who responded to this. I've PM'd you all and I'm setting a preliminary time table for the first edition (tentatively) the middle of next week - that all depends on if I can get hold of everyone I want to speak to or get information from in time obviously. Also your wretched and frankly distracting private lives. Pfft.

Anyone still fancies taking part, I'm not setting any arbitrary limits on participation - I figure we'll have a pool of dudes who will all be busy and won't be available all the time so more the merrier. Please get yourself on Skype and add me so I can add you to the group chat.

Sounds interesting chap, I'm upto my eyes in Uni atm, but may I suggest another option? You could try the Google+ hangouts. You can even stream directly to Youtube. Could be another option for you guys :)

Google Hangouts is awesome. But I believe you need to request permission somehow before you can record more than 15 minutes of live material? I don't think it's difficult to do, but needs to be done ahead of time as it is not instant.

EDIT (for clarification): You can do a Hangout for as long as you like, but the recording to YouTube will get cut-off at 15 minutes unless you find the request box.

A few people have contacted me suggesting G+, justin.tv, streaming style stuff. Honestly I am not personally looking to add video. The idea is just to create a compressed audio file that can be easily streamed from a website widget, itunes, cloud distributed via Amazon indefinitely and can be listened to on the fly or on an ipod. A very traditional podcast format. No frills. There's plenty to talk about (some people disagree with that as well) even at this early stage and I'd like to keep the emphasis on the content not the medium. :D I'm sure others will plug any gaps in demand for more content mediums and heck there will probably be more podcasts.

It'll bring an even greater sense of community, and give people the opportunity to chat and express ideas without them being lost in swathes of other posts in a thread!

I think the audio file method you suggested is probably the best format too... it'll be far easier to listen to something in the car/train/bus/doing the dishes etc than sit and watch a video. Looking forward to it :)

Thanks! I'm really looking forward to making it. Completely agree about the medium - literally the only time I have to listen to something for 45 mins is while jogging or otherwise doing something else entirely like driving etc. That is very much my target audience. :D
