The legacy of a centuries-old mystery.

Disturbing encounters with unknown ships.

A prelude to war.

Three great superpowers manoeuvre against each other. But are their destinies their own, or are they merely the puppets of some greater power?
Since the loss of the Prism system in 3300, Lady Kahina Tijani Loren has operated on the fringes of Imperial society. Led by clues from a woman once thought dead, she is drawn into a conspiracy at the heart of humanity. To uncover the truth she must contend with dangerous enemies, navigate murky political waters, and – with the help of her friends – uncover the secret of the Formidine Rift.

Premonition is the new story set in the Elite Dangerous universe, shaped by player actions in the Elite: Dangerous game.

Cheers,

Drew.

Interesting. Good luck with it, but I can't help wondering if certain groups will do their utmost to upset things and get their name in print.

The Drunks of Sol will certainly be putting traffic cones in interesting places ;)

I wish I was English like my hero Tj.
Looking forward to it, Drew! Reclamation was a fun read and I am definitely interested to read more about the characters you introduced there.

Congrats, and best of luck!

I am ashamed to say I haven't read Reclamation but I'm closely following and 'living' the great narrative you've created ingame. Time to dust off the old reading glasses and congrats, Drew!

Will it be released as an audio book too? Not that I'm too lazy to read, but I do prefer to listen to a good story while I'm playing elite :)

Sounds ambitious & very exciting, Drew. Seems like you're going to need a lot of help from CMDR's solving some of the mysteries as you mention. Looking forward to the book, and loads and loads of GalNet articles with just enough clues...

Excellent news!

Right On, Drew!

Stuff like this is what CR, SM et al can only dream about, truly groundbreaking. :)

This, this is phenomenal news!
The integration of a video game's living universe with a novel in a positive feedback loop.
Commanders in ED, Commanders in the novel: what a galvanising incentive.
The possibilities are endless.
Congratulations Drew! I can't wait to read your novel and Galnet articles.
And thank you Frontier Developments!

I'd foreseen that this was coming.

[good news, looking forward to it]
OK Yoda!:D

Wow, that's awesome, Drew! Without exaggeration, "Reclamation" was by far the best ED book, IMHO! Couldn't think of anyone else as more worthy to write The official Elite Dangerous novel than you, honestly! [up]

But to be honest, when I just read about it in your blog, I first was hesitant about whether that ambitious plan of yours may be too ambitious! After all, I think the source material you get from Frontier concerning the current lore of the Elite universe is somewhat lacking, atm. As you wrote in your blog, the important figures in Powerplay in particular are way too underdeveloped. And since I didn't get the impression that the Galnet articles up to now are drawing a very distinct or interesting picture of those characters, I was a little afraid that this could result in a big mess. Those articles just vary too much in tone to paint a consistent picture of the ED galaxy so far.

I particularly liked 'Reclamation' because it didn't try to cover everything, but instead very successfully focused on just a handful of star systems and a few characters, which therefore turned out to be very interesting and charismatic, and since it conveyed a very consistent feeling and atmosphere about the ED universe. The way you described people, locations and events all fit together very well. For that reason, reading about your plans to throw everything into the story but the kitchen sink sounded a little concerning. But when I finished your blog entry, I was kind of reassured again. The way you are planning to approach the story sounds reasonable. Just do your fans one favour: make your characters as interesting and engaging as they were in "Reclamation"!

Anyway, good luck this endeavour! Really looking forward to reading your next space epic! :)
