This video is just a bit of waffle, with 4 or 5 good tips in there.

1. Use a far ranging ship to cut down travelling time.
2. Use it to feed the engineers and taxi materials to then fast
3. Approach planets half height to the distance
4. Use a fast ship to boost away from interdictions
5. Buy worthless upgrades to fast rank engineers

The main point of the video was:

One Quarter of the game time is loading, so if you play this for 4 hours, you are only playing it for 3 hours - the rest is all waiting around. This is if you choose to play it at a reasonable hour (6-pm till 10pm), so maybe most of the map loading and some base loading would be reduced if played at 3am. So its all relative, except for the system load times, which are about the same all the time.
