Release Elite Dangerous Ship Anatomy

This is a small project inspired by the game.

It represents all ships available in the game and gives you info on how hard points, utilities and other viable modules and parts are placed on each ship.
It also provides the view of gunsights at different targeting ranges, so you may check if placing fixed-mounted weapons will work against Thargoid :)

It's at the first stage currently. I'm not decided yet if I would add placements of internal modules.

UPDATE 24 Jun 2020.
For some ships I've added placements of core and optional internals. There are 10 ships of such kind only yet, because all of them are SLF-capable. I need to cooperate with my friends to make all others. This will take some time I suppose. Internals have their dimensions, but all info we can uptain is just markers. So eventually I decided not to generate my own view on what dimensions are, and leave markers only.

UPDADE 02 May 2021.
Added disembark/embark point for all ships.

Full description is here:

If you have any questions/suggestions, of find an error, please feel free to email or PM me.

Please do it.

I'm not sure I can correctly define the exact place of some modules. More over, I'm still not sure if position of core internal modules won't change with different set of optional internals, hehe. Of course, I have to do some research on this. But yes, I can't help but think about this idea. This is an anatomy of the ships after all =)

Not sure about sensors, but all other core internals are targetable so their position should be more or less obvious (*)
From the optional internals, the only targetable i can come up right now is the shield gen. Not sure if there are others.

(*) kinda annoyed by the placement of PP in Cobra Mk3. Makes it rather hard to snipe in engagements closer than 1000m :)

Yes, you're right. I have checked it. Core internals are always at the same place, and it was obvious, but it was better to double-check =) Optionals places depend on module index, not its type.

Here, very weird position of fighter hangar inside of my Keelback. Two 5-sized internals are located at left and right side of the ship. One of these internals is for fighter (green marker under 156M label). And I imagine how it teleports there from the fighter bay, lol.

Well, I guess the work is much easier than I initially thought.
So it looks like I can add all core modules (but the sensors) and position of all optionals no matter what in there. Shame we can't get the sensors position.

edit: typos

Update on the project =)

For some ships I've added placements of core and optional internals. There are 10 ships of such kind only yet, because all of them are SLF-capable. I need to cooperate with my friends to make all others. This will take some time I suppose. So if you have a ship and are willing to help, you are welcome. Your ship must be equipped with limpet controllers in ALL optional slots except military ones. In military slots you should place shield cell banks. All other components do not matter. I will meet you anywhere in the Bubble as soon as we both are ready. It usually takes about 10 minutes to screenshot one ship. I should start my Discord server for this, maybe... Will update then done.

Internals have their dimensions, but all info we can uptain is just markers. So eventually I decided not to generate my own view on what dimensions are, and leave markers only as they are.

This Beluga Liner provides a good look on how this thing works. To be honest, I was afraid of internals placed illogically, you know. But I was completely satisfied with how precisely they were located.

This thread has sunk too deep. It looks like people really need this tool but many of them have no idea about its existence.
So this is just a bold bump post.
Don't thank me. Say thanks to the author.

Added entrance points. Where you find yourself when you disembark your ship.
I found this thing is crucial in some occasions. So I decided to add them.
Some ships have very unusual design of this ones. For example, Orca and Dolphin.

So if you wondered where you will be placed once exiting your ship, this is now clear =)

Really nice
for the moment I'm using the DBX exclusively since it seem to have one of the shortest run-to-elevators

I don't even want to think i will be use the Corvette
Or the Cutter :)
