Elite Dangerous - So far so good but not without it's problems

I don't really get drawn into the discussions or should I say mud slinging matches much, as far as I'm concerned the game for the most part is healthy yes it's not without it's problems, for instance I feel powerplay is unbalanced towards the underminer, with 15 merits per ship killed as opposed to anyone doing any preperation who can at best take 50 credits a time at rank 5 but for most its a much lower amount every 30 mins, and the one merit per ship in the military strike zones is just way too low but these are MY opinions. There always has been this quote by David Braben that the game is the game they and he wish to play. Although my biggest gripe is a lack of depth I can see how powerplay adds to this depth. The passion I see for this game is born out of a deep desire for this to be the game it deserves to be, everyone has an idea of what is good what is bad. The whole Xbox one issue is a non-starter for me you want more money for more development, and you want more people to play the game it's that simple, the CQC looks good and it is coming to the PC/Mac later in the year. Remember Xbox things need to be tested on the Xbox. I backed at alpha level, it doesn't entitle me to any more of an opinion than the person who brought the game today, I had my input in the DDF forums and yes I would like to see more of that implemented into the game, but I acknowledge that this will take time. Look at all the good things we have so far, the network issues have for the most part been solved there is still a few niggles here and there but nothing as bad as it was back in premium beta, the graphics are stunning, and as far as an empty room to build onto I can't fault what they have done so far. Of course there are many many things I want to see, bigger ships, planetary landings, walking around ships the list is endless but don't think for a minute your or my list is any shorter than frontiers, David himself has said many times they want to do things right, the problem with doing things right is they take time and they take effort, it's rare that anything is 'RIGHT' first time. Even when I'm writting dockers the final product is usually about the 5th or 6th re-write that's how most things are made in the modern world. The thing however I have always wanted for this game is a passionate community and we have that in spades and if you agree or disagree with the process, most people are listened too which is a lot more than most companies, especially gaming companies would do. I want a game for example that has cause and effect and although I think powerplay needs to be rebalanced I love the cause and effect it has brought to the galaxy, I would like to see more so that when you make a decision you think about it and how it will affect you and your gameplay in the future. But this is still a very empty house, a very nice looking house in a nice area, the furniture is still in the van on the way to the house, and believe me there is a lot of it coming. We should be glad that 30 years down the line Elite is still a living breathing thing, this game for the most part has everything and more the other Elite games had and it's only going to get more. I still believe in the vision that David and Frontier have in this game and so far they haven't really let me down.........
