Elite Dangerous Soundtrack update

The sound engineering in this game is fantastic; I doubt anyone would dispute that?!

I used to play Eve loads (2003 to 2009) and while I find the music in ED to be OK the music for EVE is very good. I recently started muting the music in ED and playing the original EVE soundtrack instead and it really works. Hire the composer ;):D

The music style really suits the game.

Hello, Gortron. :)

Hmm... The in-game music's by Real-X, who's still an in-house composer and audio engineer for CCP Games. It's not a bad score - and for anyone unable to listen, it's mostly techno, with much use of church organ-work for the epic bits. It's okay, but I'm not convinced Elite: Dangerous needs to add yet another slightly-generic, sci-fi techno score to the world of music.

I think ED would benefit from some updated music. Seeing as we're now staring down the barrel of an alien invasion, parts of the game - such as the Main Menu - should ideally begin to reflect that. I think Talbot - and FD's existing composers and engineers - are the right people for the job. :)

I was just thinking the other day that the combat music could do with a changing
Personally I really like the skimmer attack music and would like to hear that when I fight in my ship.

I actually like the more orchestral approach, Elite music has. And those moments, the piano kicks in, when close to planets or on the surface...
A bit of downtempo or dark ambient style music would suit it quite well, if new types of electronic music will be introduced to the soundtrack.
