Greetings Commanders.

If you're here with us in UTC, it's time to boil the kettle/prep those grounds however you like them and settle in for the Update 14 Release Tracker thread!

First things First:

Time Approximations (UTC)	Action
7:00	Both Elite Dangerous Legacy (3.8) and Live (4.0) Servers are down.
18:30	Servers return. Update 14 Deployment will be live and available to download.

DOWNLOAD SIZE INFORMATION (UPDATE 14 ONLY):

• (3.8) Legacy Update 14 : 164.7 MB
• (4.0) Live Update 14 : 4.8 GB

Total size combined for Update 14 ONLY : 4.9 GB (Legacy and Live updates combined).

IMPORTANT NOTE:
If you have not installed a full download of the 'Live (4.0)' game client in advance of Update 14 deployment, the client itself, minus the Update 14 download size, will be around the 50 GB mark.

You may wish to ensure 'Live' is downloaded and installed prior to Update 14 release, if you have yet to do so.

Due to the nature of this deployment, we'd like to highlight previously shared information on 'Live' and 'Legacy' modes, formed as part of this major update.

  • Please do feel free to create your own discussion threads outside of this one to hold conversations along the way, however, but please do also note that many of us will have our hands on the cogs so responses may be a little sporadic/delayed if you tag any of us.

The known issues list outlined in the update notes is currently a work in progress.
More time will be needed both in conjunction with and at a time thereafter Update 14 to confirm additional status updates on poignant known issues from both prior and as part of Update 14.

Hello all!

As per all Update days it's entirely expected that many of you will have read the update notes and then taken to the channels to ask for more information on issues that may not be listed as fixed or issues that are missing from acknowledgement of 'known'.

These can come along in the 100s throughout the day and with all hands needed to make the deployment and release go as smoothly as possible, myself and the team don't have the capacity to respond to each case of query like this - honestly, we can only apologise o7

What I can assure you is that notes and thoughts are being taken for when we can more specifically address issues as a talking point and update you all on more targeted progress related to things like the issue tracker and so on.

We'll do what we can with this o7 Thanks for being patient.

We unfortunately need to extend the deployment downtime of Update 14, now targeting release at 17:00 UTC.

Whilst this is no doubt disappointing news for you all, we want to reassure you that all teams are hands on with this new schedule, in order to bring you the most optimal experience with this new update today.

Update 14 will be available for LIVE (4.0) versions of Elite Dangerous.

Legacy servers will remain currently unavailable, whilst we continue to investigate an ongoing server issue.

We hope to resolve this as soon as possible o7
