Hey all. As some of you know I have been dabbling with Elite Dangerous themed 3D modeling for a while:
https://forums.frontier.co.uk/threads/gu-97-imperial-fighter-for-oculus-home.445419/
I was initially working on an Anaconda bridge for Oculus Home but the limitations of the platform caused me to scrap the idea and move to VRChat (Unity).
It's still a WIP, but the level currently consists of an Anaconda with a bridge you can walk around, working rear doors that let you walk around the outside onto the ship, animated fans, engine sounds, external lighting, an elevator to the fighter bay with the above linked Imperial fighter (with landing gear extended) inside, and a button to open/close and lower the fighter bay.
If anyone has any suggestions about anything that would be cool I am willing to consider adding it to the level. At this point I want to add "destination glass nose" (front of the ship) to the main elevator. I don't have any good ideas about loose objects to put in the level though which might be cool. Med kit maybe? lol Does anyone on here actually play VRChat? FYI it works without VR also.
Just wanted to post this on the Frontier Forum before making anything live and getting in trouble. I will also post some YouTube videos of the level as I get closer to done. As with my last post, I will wait at least a week to make anything live assuming I do not receive a cease and desist from Frontier prior to then. I have seen a lot of fan based stuff posed using Frontier's models and it looks as though as long as I'm not trying to make any money off of it they are OK with it. Frontier please let me know if this is not the case.
Current Level:
Oh, and I also modeled the ED Avatar with working lights and bone structures (A lot of work left to finish that). Also have to start the interior lighting. (The below is a private locked world for test purposes)
