Elite: Dangerous vs Far Cry 4

Hello, the first time i ever seen Elite Dangerous, i was amazed and i wanted to get it. But then I saw Far Cry 4 soon after. I want to get at least one of these games but I don't know which. They both seem pretty sick to play and I just want to hear your guys thoughts on what you would pick. Thanks! :)

Two TOTALLY different games. If I could only choose 1 it would be Elite Dangerous.

Why?

Far Cry would be finished after two days. I have also wanted to explore our galaxy, thought I would never have the chance in my lifetime.... Well I can now and it is AWESOME! - Still not fired a shot yet lol

Far cry 4 is okay but it lacks a little flavour. Have you got far cry 3? Much better story and you could pick it up cheap.

Not convinced? Google zero punctuation. Far cry 4 review. Not safe for work though.but generally in line with my opinion.

I got Far Cry 4. About 20-30 hours worth of gameplay if you do everything. It's kinda like FC3 but with a lot extra nice stuff put into it. I actually prefer it to FC3. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E_wSWb96ihE This video was the one that made me buy the game. I love the fact that you can attack enemies with the elephant haha.

Some hints: Take radio towers with the helicopter, and use a grenade launcher while up there :)

Other then that they are two different games. MMOish Space Game vs Story Driven FPS with some Co-Op elements.

I love what ED will become, in time, but I'm actually playing Far Cry 4 more just now. Very different games though. :) As someone else said, if you don't have Far Cry 3 - get it and pocket the change for a while.

I played far cry 4 and was excited about it because I enjoyed 3 when the story got going. 4 Seems to be more of the same but feels dumbed down somehow with minor added features.

The games I have played the most the past year are War Thunder and Elite Dangerous. I had a brief fling with FC 4 when it first came out. But came back to ED half way through gamma and haven't touched FC4 since.

I hated Farcry 3 myself, all I seemed to be doing is driving around coming across cars and having them chase me. I did try the storyline for a bit but it was a bit pants. Its a run of the mill open world game with a storyline. But IMO Elite Dangerous is far better than those games in that you make your own goals and carry them out,there is no real story so you are free to do whatever and the mechanics support that pretty well. And the game will get better and better as well unlike limited games like Farcry. I enjoy those games for a few hours but get fed up with them quite quickly, ED will keep me going for months and months, possibly years.

Got FC4 on steam recent but got a critical bug so have not played it.
Play a lot Rocksmith 2014 PC and BF4 PS3

But I did like FC3.
