Elite Dangerous Wall Art

I previously posted pics of my second cockpit with VR dedicated to Elite Dangerous, because I was frankly tired of 3.5 hours setup changes to go from race sim and flight sim for single cockpit.

Today, canvas wall art with Elite Dangerous theme arrived. I'm really nuts about my play room décor and always put up wall art based on what I'm doing in that area of the room...

1) This is my video gaming/Movie room area, so it gets movie type canvas wall art...

2) This area of room is where my favorite stuff as a kid is kept, Star Trek and Batman....

3) Of course need canvas art for my race sim setup...

4) And finally, my just arrived wall art for Elite Dangerous above the ED cockpit...

So Elite Dangerous was discovered three months ago for me and has invaded my entertainment room with a permanent spot to spend thousands of hours with it. Elite Dangerous wall art and mouse pads just to get me in the mood, plus my essential beer holder, and I'm set. Retirement sure is fun. Wish I didn't have to work out and eat, constant interruptions from play time.

For many of us, Elite started in 1984 and has been a youthful friend, and that was 36 years ago.

It also seems like yesterday when the first kick-starter for Elite was announced and now that's almost seven years ago.

It's nice to see what you have done to honor the game you found three months ago and for you "The Journey Is Just Beginning".

Best of luck to you and always remember and never forget, "Never Fly Without A Re-buy" and "Don't Forget Your Limpets".

A right of passage for you before you get too far along, don't forget to go to "Hutton Orbital" for your "Free Anaconda". You can trade it in for credits and buy the ship you really want.

Be well and fly safe......

Three months but I now have five ships and 200+ hours. I only use the Fan Wiki and INARA/EDDB and grind the old fashioned way (i.e. no relog for respawn after visiting recommended sites, etc.).

But I've been playing long enough not to fall for the "Hutton Orbital" and "Free Anaconda" stuff :sneaky:! I've taken that trip three times already on regular delivery missions. The reward was enticing enough even though I already knew how long that super cruise trip was. Great time to listen to news and down another beer though, and gaze at the cockpit awesome artwork in VR, over and over and over again.

Wait a minute, How about the "Cloaking Device"?

You found that yet?

Really!?! I searched INARA for ship components and couldn't find that one! Must be cloaked!

Guess I'm going to have to stick with Silent Running and Heat Sinks. Oh well...

PS: Oh wait! Maybe that is what I bumped into, not an invisible rock, but a "Cloaking Device" module from a destroyed ship! That may explain it!!!

Is that room off limits to the women in your life?
Absolutely not, though it is the Theatre side or Arcade side they hang out on, though I did have a niece who would not leave the race sim chair, even as I begged her to let others have a turn. Laughed at me and raced on. Since she was a much better driver than I was, I let her be.

Here are a couple of more shots of the Elite Dangerous wall art from across the room. This room used to be two bedrooms and a hallway, which I had the walls taken down and made into a single larger room. Original rooms were way too small and cramped.

At least now when I have a certain niece who takes over the race sim cockpit, I can now play elite in another cockpit.

PS: Note that both shots show each cockpit has the same drinking "mug". These are two sided taped to the tables and don't move. They are perfect size to hold a bottled beer and avoid spills while playing in VR head set. I spilt a few before I went to this and it works great now, no more wiping up beer on my hand and knees due to VR blind grab nonsense.

Enjoy your retirement and if @Krash drops by, don't let her in.

Let the rest of us know when we can have your stuff.

You have too many toys.

Fly Safe.
