Hello fellow CMDRs,

I am wondering if anyone else plays Elite Dangerous?

I really would like to create a Planet Coaster group. Just to let the universe know that there is going to be a planet of coasters build in the galaxy.

Kill Criminals & support the development of new "Coaster Planets"

Trade Blueprints or ship passangers to the Parks

Explore to find exotic planets to prepare for new "Coaster Planets"

So everyone can keep bis playstyle but some events like a big exploring trip that i want to do in the future are much funnier if you are not alone.

Currently i am Bounty Hunting in 72 Ophiuchi / Gerst Gateway (4xRes always lit not far from Gerst Gateway. But i am tempted to move to one near piscium 109 because many systems there got great discount. Just have to find a good Res site or trading route.
I am flying a Python with a pirate paintjob (not actually a pirate but one in disguise )

Well, Most of the Moderators play ED and a fair few of us are of course playing PC as well.

But there's no reason why you couldn't start a group of coasterheads in the ED Groups section.

I have the same problem. I was just thinking about this yesterday.

For my own social and schedule safety I'm not looking at Elite Dangerous at all. I probably find it a fantastic game just like Planet Coaster... [rolleyes]

Sorry Nupol, Space games are just not my cup of tea, they can get to complicated for me. But I love Planet Coaster.

I've been playing ED since it was released. I'm currently out exploring in my Asp Explorer fitted with the SRV. I also fly WW2 combat in Aces High. Between these three games, I don't get much sleep. [ugh][big grin]

I mean, with a voiceover, explaining to me all the gameplay mecanics, the story, etc. ?

If yes, is it possible to post it here ? If not, something close, because I just saw the official trailer of this game for now, and I would like to discover the game properly, without "let's play" ruining everything.

trust me you dont need lets plays for elite.

I think it destroys the way you shape your own story.

you just have to learn how to fly wich is not that hard. & after that you are blown away for some time just by the graphics itself. and in that time you learn basics in trading / fighting for yourself. The game is a massive grind if you aim for the bigger ships but after some progress you can make credits quite easily.

there are some tricks for sure but its more rewarding to find them by yourself or playing with someone online who shows you instead of watching a lets play.

i only used 1 tool: Slopeys Best Profit Calculator wich is really good if you want to make some money with trading. otherwise its really hard to find a good trading route.

I would love to get into Elite Dangerous, I just bought a new flight stick for Microsoft Flight Simulator X. The thing is I have no idea how Elite Dangerous works. Is it a single player, multiplayer game? What is the goal?

Its a singleplayer, multiplayer game in a persistent universe with procedural generated star systems (milkyway) so there are also known stars. Everything you do in singleplayer has a impact for everyone else. EG powerplay to help a faction expand its terretory.
There is no story. You basically fly a spaceship and can Form your own story. You can be an Explorer, trader, bounty hinter, Pirate eg.

As a fan of FD games for a little while now RCT3, PC, Frintier and FFE (Daughter loved Kinetimals) I've been stalki....*Ahem* following them for years.

ED or E4 as we used to call it was the game I was always waiting for, along with an updated RCT3. [big grin]

The way I look at the game is that you're alone in the universe in your ship. what, where and how you proceed it entirely up to you. You can Trade, Pirate, Smuggle the list is endless.

That's the kind of things I wanted to know.

And that's why I asked if there was a trailer (like "Red Dead Redemption Trailer - Living in the west") because it's not just UGC, but also : gameplay, with a voiceover, explaining what are the gameplay mecanics, etc...

Explaining each "roles" (Explorer, trader, bounty, pirate, etc...) for exemple. If you can go on each planet, what you can build on it, or how the crafting works or how you can customize for spaceship for exemple, I don't know the game, just few exemples. Something to discover all the possibilities of the game without being "spoiled" in fact.

I've got Elite Dangerous, and played Elite and Frontier (still play Frontier on DOS Box at times). However I've struggled to get immersed into it. I keep meaning to go back to it, but not had much chance (ARK stole my life). I can now see PC eating a whole chunk of time too.

Hopefully I can find some time to fly around a bit.
