Elite Discount and Price of 8A Power Plant

From another thread:
As side note, Elite ranks ABOVE the Horizons ranks CANCELED the 2.5% discount, the bug got fixed, but maybe some of your purchases from 3-2 years ago lack this extra bonus.

I didn't know this. No wonder several of my modules show 15% discount on Inara. 😑

However, the bug doesn't seem to have been fixed. I'm in LYR space right now, and this is what I found:

The Elite discount is actually 2.125% (not 2.5%) and is obviously broken at least for the 7A PP.

Moreover, the list price for the 8A PP seems to be wrong both on the Wiki and on Inara. The actual list price is the one listed on EDSY.

I found this expired ticket on the Issue Tracker about the 7A power plant, but nothing else.

Can anyone explain any of this?

Discount is multiplicative, not additive, only multiply the inverse of the discount.

15%+2.5%?
0.85*0.975= 0.82875 = 17.125%

EDSY.org only show 1 decimal, but use the whole decimals for the value cost. 4credits is a minor error that I dont know where it comes.

The Elite discount is exactly 2.5% if the system dont have any other discount.

One could argue they countered any and all discount bugs for perpetuity by throwing stupid amounts of money at us and completely wrecking the economy. :p
Or one could argue that the economy is in excellent shape as players no longer have to play for a year to be able to afford a big ship, and that mission rewards often turn a profit once fuel & repairs have been subtracted (things were different in 2017, remember?)

I suppose 'the economy' is one of those unimportant facets of the game, as it isn't EVE or similar, just a spaceship flying game where newer players are no longer being dissuaded from playing by long waits to 'progress' their own game.

I backed the kickstarter high enough to be a Founder Of The Elite. One of the "perks" of being a Founder is I get a ?% discount on ships and modules. Before I played the game, I thought "Great! I get stuff cheaper than others do", but once I got into the game, not only did others get a discount at Shinrarta, which I am OK with, but there's other stations where you can get a bigger discount.

As if that wasn't bad enough, having a game-wide discount means I can't tell you what things are supposed to cost. If I go into the game to look up the cost of something and I tell you a price, you pay more because you don't get the discount. I am bad at maths anyway, and I can't even remember what the discount is supposed to be, because there's more than one % discount.

This.

Frontier should’ve fixed the actual problem during the original Alpha: exponential price increases for logarithmic capability gains. Instead, they just kept boosting up credit rewards instead. :(
