Elite / Frontier Elite Frontier 2 Question. (Rolling.)

Wow. Ive been playing FE2 after taking a break from FFE. I like the 'little differences' Fe2 has. (Faces in starports. Clouds. A comm system that actually works. Coriolis stations. 'Cleaner graphics' etc. etc.)

However, one thing has me stumped. Rolling. To clarify, in gl/jj FFE, you could 'roll' your ship with the [ and ] keys respectively. Not overly useful, but fun for manual docking. (Which happens quite often after losing autopilot. >.<)

Ive looked through the manual, and A and Z are for going up and down, while < and > are turning left and right. Nothing mentioned about rolling. Does FE2 have a roll key? I like having the option if nothing else.

Also, what is the point of the police officer harrassing you on docking? Is this for 'flavor' or what? I don't seem to lose credits, and I can press P to pander, or just ignore him. I assume somehting happens if you ignore him?

Sounds like you're playing Tom Morton's re-make. The police hassle was to with copy protection in the original release.
The roll keys were introduced into FFE by John Jordan and AFAIK have not been incorporated into any version of FE2.

A comm system that actually works.

Can't see any difference between FFE and FE2 in this regard.

And yes, FFE2 is "cleaner", but I prefer FFE because of the journals. They have a surprisingly good quality of writing and are pretty good at giving the impression that you're not alone in the galaxy.

A frontier remake with FE2 graphics and the missions and journals from FFE would be great.

It's possible the officer didn't find the whole stash, perhaps just a joint in the cockpit ashtray. These smuggling ships do have lots of hidden compartments.

Well, that's how i'd RP justify it anyway.
