Elite Galaxy Online v1.8 - The Orrery

Hey Commanders,

A while ago, I had a daft idea to try and build a 3D orrery and add it to my website www.elitegalaxyonline.com.

The thing that shocks me the most is that I've actually managed to get it to work and its now live!

The Orrery is a full 3D orbital simulation which simulates the orbits of the planets based on their real data and it can be viewed for any system in the Galaxy which has been recorded at the site.
If you go to this page, you can see all of the Orreries which have been generated so far and have a look around.

It works best on the latest version of Google Chrome so I would recommend using that browser if you can for the best experience.

Its really really complicated so there might be a few bugs but it seems to be holding up ok at the minute.

Ok, not available on my tablet, but totally understsnd. You sir, are getting +1 rep for your effort. I will check it out tomorrow :)

Oo, elite galaxy online back in headlights.

@dognosh, perhaps this screenshot will suffice for your tablet needs.

EDIT: So the big idea is, you can rotate and move the map around. It's super resource intensive, though.

Dear Lord that is impressive work. Can you just imagine how awesome that would be in the actual game????!!! o_O From what Michael said recently though it doesn't sound like we will be getting it any time soon, or that they are even planning on it. [knocked out]

I am in awe of your accomplishment on this though. Frack'n Awesome.
